- Upcoming Events Coming Soon!
Participate in a paranormal investigation at the Cressler Creek Log Cabin home and its secluded surroundings. Nearby are two historic dugouts with mystery waiting to be uncovered. One is a homesteader and the other build to shelter for a wounded Civil War soldier for the winter. Many who stay at the lodge have reported unexplainable phenomenons.
Close by is the famed “Penokee Man” so named by an unusual configuration of stones in the shape of a man on a hill called Indian Mountain. No one knows how long they’ve been there, who put them there, or, most intriguingly why.
Even from the air, Penokee Man, the 60-foot tall shape of a man lying in grass, is hard to picture. Yet this site considered one of the most ancient sacred sites on the prairie, significant not only to Kansas but to the Great Plains and North America.
Catch a Ghost Tours of Kansas provides the equipment and training for the night’s event. Check in and out time for the lodge is 1:00pm. The event begins around 7:00pm or 8:00pm, depending on the time of year and lasts approximately 4 hours.
The lodge is located half way between Kansas City and Denver, just north of I-70 on Highway 24. This area of Northwest Kansas is well known for excellent hunting, including pheasant, whitetail and mule deer, and wild turkey. The lodge is located within a few miles of two fishing lakes, and acres of walk-in and leased hunting.
This unique log-style cabin home is very comfortable, fully furnished, 8 beds, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry, plus so much more. The Lodge sports a moss-rock fireplace, game room with pool table, and it is located in a secluded wooded area in Sheridan County (near Hoxie)—very much worth the price. The kitchen includes a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, BUN coffee maker, and all the wares to cook.
